Then another body turns up amongst the sand dunes at the base of the mighty castle fortress, and he decides it cant be a coincidenceMeanwhile, after a recent revelation about her sister, DC Melanie Yates quest to avenge her death is becoming an obsessionmuch to the concern of those around her. LJ Ross is still one of my favourite authors and I shall never become tired of reading about Ryan and his team and the beautiful north-east. The members of The Circle the cult that he had infiltrated and destroyed in “Holy Land” seem to have reemerged.Thinking of a creative venture that would take her away from her job, she fell pregnant with her son. Then another body turns up amongst the sand dunes at the base of the mighty castle fortress, and he decides it can’t be. When an old woman dies at her home in the sleep village of Bamburgh, DCI Ryan doesn’t think much of it―except for the small matter of it being his wife who happened to find her body. The novel received much popularity and commercial success that it is known as the novel that knocked Paula Hawkins’ fan favorite “The Girl on the Train” off the UK Kindle’s bestseller list. His use of local dialect has increased significantly over the series and it is probably a bit too much for a police officer and not, necessarily, a true reflection of the majority of people who live in area.

I dare say that there is so much packed into the little book ot could have been spread over two stories. But as Melanie delves deeper into the secrets of the past to uncover the truth, she soon realises it lies much closer to home. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. M. Kaye whose novel Far Pavillions she read for hours at a time enchanted by the vivid descriptions and the romance. Struggling to find a killer that is hiding in plain sight, while navigating small town politics and pagan rituals that muddy the waters, romance is blossoming between the two tortured souls, threatening to slow down the investigation. After practicing law for nearly ten years in London, the stressful environment and the long hours began to take their toll.

Book 10 Frank doesn’t smoke and has been married 6 months , book 11 he’s having a cigarette and still why with makenzie! My big question is when will your new books be out Be it the Ryan or the Alex Gregory books all are fantastic.I have recently been binge-reading all of LJ Ross’ Ryan books, numbers 1 - 12 for the second time and the remainder for the first time. Ross loved books from a very early age when she would find old books from her mother’s chest that she would staple and illustrate during her middle school years. However, she has always been a fan of vintage fiction and lists mystery and crime protagonist Sherlock Holmes and Miss Marple as her favorite characters. With a passion for writing and reading, a writing career seemed the most plausible way to express her creativity. Set on the historic Holy Island otherwise known as Lindisfarne, “Holy Island” is a gripping novel that introduces Detective Chief Inspector Ryan.

While she will always be a northerner at heart, she currently lives with her husband and their son in Bath on the outskirts of London where she spends her days writing her detective mysteries. Meanwhile, after a recent revelation about her sister, DC Melanie Yates’ quest to avenge her death is becoming an obsession—much to the concern of those around her. This is fairly undemanding, predictable fare though I was wondering how this would be wrapped up in one volume until the hypnosis worked its magic midway through while the identity of the secondary killer was a bit surprising. When a cantankerous old woman dies at her home in the sleepy, picturesque village of Bamburgh, DCI Ryan doesnt think much of itexcept, that is, for the small matter of it having been his wife who happened to find her body. This time around there is absolutely no doubt about who the bad guy is, at least as far as the investigation into Gemma's disappearance goes, as they are introduced very early on, with many scenes from their point of view.
